11kV Polymer Disc Insulator – High Performance Insulation for Medium Voltage Lines
The 11 kV polymer disc insulator is a current, modern, relatively light weight and rugged insulator designed for medium voltage, overhead power lines. This insulator is constructed of advanced polymers, providing excellent insulation capability, high tensile strength and resilience from environmental stresses will be the insulator of choice for utility and industrial power networks of today.
What is an 11 kV Polymer Disc Insulator?
An 11 kV polymer disc insulator is installed as a suspension-type insulator for the electrical support and isolation of conductors in pylons for overhead lines rated at 11 kilovolts. This insulator is built with a fiberglass core rod and silicone rubber housing (excellent insulation properties, pollution resistance moisture resistance and mechanical damage resistance).
In contrast to traditional porcelain disc insulators, polymer disc insulators are non brittle, lighter, and maintenance free.
