Polymer Disc Insulator

Polymer Disc Insulator – Trusted Insulation of High Voltage Devices

A polymer disc insulator is often used in overhead transmission lines to suspend the conductors and ground wires and at the same time to make sure there are no leakage currents that could go to supported tower and cause flashover. Constructed of fiberglass core, silicone rubber housing, and metal end fittings, this insulator is of high mechanical strength and good weathering properties.

Polymer disc insulators are most suitable for use in high voltage systems as compared to conventional insulating materials owing to low weight, pollution resistance and enhanced electrical property. They are not brittle the way traditional porcelain insulators are, more easy to install and have superior performance in coastal, industrial and high-humidity environments.

Key Features:

High mechanical and tensile strength

UV, water, and pollution resistant

Hydrophobic surface prevents flashovers

Lightweight and impact-resistant

Low maintenance and long life service
